Peter Hirst FCA Finance Director and Company Secretary

Peter qualified as a chartered accountant in the early 70's and teamed up with Paul Caddick nearly 25 years ago when turnover was £3m, net assets £1m and there were 2 active companies! Throughout this period there has been sustained growth and value creation across the group and Peter's financial position has involved many interesting and challenging situations where the overriding responsibility of control and cash management, coupled with 'risk and return' has sometimes had to take precedence over enthusiastically presented proposals.

With Paul Caddick's hand firmly on the rudder, the strategy going forward will be more of the same in a market place which has become tougher, less fundable and more competitive.

On a personal note Peter keeps himself fit with visits to the gym and has also taken up golf after finally conceding that his body should not stand the rigours of playing rugby!

Peter also enjoys gardening and being involved with his 3 grandchildren.
